Background

Arab countries are in different states of economic development and are
often struggling to organise their economies more efficiently. Typically, these problems can be traced back to badly designed institutions and an inadequate education of the local workforce.

Objective
This programme offers modern economic knowledge to participants from the Arab region and contributes to establishing a functioning market economy. In Germany, there is a substantial lack of education on Arab economies. The course will help German participants to understand the particular characteristics of this region.

Acquiring up-to-date knowledge about the Economics of the Arab region that is based on a sound theoretical understanding of economic processes.
Employability is ensured through a combination of ready-to-use practical parts and theoretical parts that will form the basis for life-long learning.
Cross-cultural understanding will be fostered on an intellectual level through academic studies and on a practical level as a result of the intensive interactions between Arab and German students.
