The first meeting for candidates of summer 2007 will be announced in October 2006 (see board 0252).
In the exam colloquia we will focus on themes and topics relevant for the final oral exam which you will have to face either as a teacher student, diploma or MA student. The topics will have to be diligently worked upon before the main colloquium takes place. Participants with the same or similar exam topics will form groups before the final colloquium. Together they will design a paper which has to be seen as a topical sketch and which will allow us to create a common basis for all the specific topics within the large framework of the whole exam topic repertoire. The paper will contain a short survey on the most significant aspects of the topic and a list of selected bibliography. Furthermore, it will contain provocative statements, as well as intelligent and elaborate questions and highly academic tasks for the participants. Participation at the preliminary meetings as well as the preparation of a topic are requirements. Within the colloquia we will present the topics, and simulate oral exams. These simulations will be observed and analysed within the framework of specific criteria. Additionally, there will be an evaluation of the simulations; suggestions for improvements will be made. New concepts will be discussed and developed. Besides content analyses one of the main goals is to develop a competence that allows exam candidates to conduct both external as well as internal evaluations. Candidates will learn to develop strategies that allow them to better cope with the real exam situation.
