The seminar concerns itself with two main issues: the genesis of the landscapes of São Paulo and how this genesis and their imaginary change can be animated for a public exhibition. The landscapes of São Paulo have undergone a massive change in the last century. What was once a lush tropical rainforest crisscrossed by numerous rivers is today a vast plain of concrete. This story is not unusual, however in the case of São Paulo it was done with a certain ruthlessness on a grand scale. LUH students have already studied this transformation and imagined its change. The seminar São Paulo Animated would build upon the results of two studios conducted in Winter 2014 (Deep South) and Summer 2015 (The Lost River of Tamanduateí). Skills for manipulating the moving image (video, animation) will be trained, next to the devlopment of research capacities and poignant story telling. Selected results of the seminar may be used in a highly public exhibition at the Architekturmuseum of the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich. Participants: max. 12 master students. Students who participated in one of the two São Paulo studios will have priority access. Language: English Landschaftsarchitektur, Master of Science Universität Hannover WiSe 2015/16 Inst. f.
