Jetzt Lernplan erstellen-We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children.”
- Ancient proverb
The ways in which we design and build our communities have profound impacts on human’s cognitive, physical and mental wellbeing. Collectively this can effect the performance of urban systems with regards to environmental, social and economical performance.
It is also proclaimed that the 21st century is an urban century, where more people live in urban than in rural areas. In other words we are facing a perfect storm of environmental, economical and health challenges. Demographic change, increasing costs for health care, environmental threads from resource depletion and climate change as well as economical uncertainty are some indicators that we cannot afford doing business as usual.
Joining the dots- this compact seminar course will give participants useful insights, tools and pathways on how we can enable development patterns that cater for health- and wellbeing of children, adults and older people.
Case studies in the international context will underpin the theoretical discourse. The practical hands one component will strengthen participant abilities to integrate health- and wellbeing into their future practice.
Understanding the interconnections from individual behaviours, to decision-making processes and advocacy for health and wellbeing in urban policy will help to shape better futures for the next generation.
We are living in a global world - therefore course will be lectured in English.
