Neo-Liberal Globalization and Employment Relations: Trucking and the Logistics Industry
Neo-liberal globalization has championed liberalization of logistics services and deregulation of trucking sectors in many nations. This seminar will examine how employment relaitons have changed during the era of neo-liberal globalization, and how unions have responded to the liberalization trend. The course will examine seafaring, longshoring, trucking, and retail. Students will investigate how employment relations in one or more of these industries are changing in their own country.
