Übung Sprachpraxis Englisch 2

This course is designed to improve the fluency and accuracy of students' oral communication in English. This will involve a variety of exercises designed to encourage and foster speaking and listening in different contexts and on different topics. Activities may include class discussions about current events and controversial issues, impromptu speaking, problem-solving tasks, pronunciation practice, etc. In order to receive a credit (Studienleistung) for this course, students must fulfil the following requirements: - Regular attendance (no more than two classes missed) and active participation - EITHER: One individual presentation of around 10 to 15 minutes in length with ensuing questions and discussion - OR: one assessed reading comprehension task to be completed at home (This option is ONLY available to BA students taking the -schriftliche Teilmodulprüfung-.) BA STUDENTS: It is possible to do the -schriftliche Teilmodulprüfung-, the -mündliche Teilmodulprüfung- OR the -Studienleistung- in this course. The -mündliche Teilmodulprüfung- will take place in the last week of the semester. Further instructions on length, format and requirements will be provided in class. The -schriftliche Teilmodulprüfung- will take place near the end of the semester (exact date TBA) and will take the form of a written test (reading comprehension and summary writing) to be completed in class under exam conditions.
