Jetzt Lernplan erstellenThe Workshop provides four independent parts, both containing for getting and maintaining spatial information about the planning area. For using these tools it is necessary to know some theoretical background and to get some experiences by means of exercises. The course provides both.
1. Part: Cartography
A map is used as a tool to show spatial phenomena in a realistic manner, to indicate spatial problems and help to prepare actions. Therefore, it is very important for any planner to know the principles of compiling and drawing a thematic map.
2. Part: Aerial Photo Interpretation
Aerial photo interpretation is part of the major subject of remote sensing of environment. It is an important tool for getting information about the planning area. To gain the information it is necessary to know how to handle air photos, the techniques of interpretation, and some instruments supplying this process.
3. Part: GIS
Geographic information systems (GIS) are becoming more and more important for rural development planning. The workshop gives a general introduction of ArcView, which allows first applications and prepares for a more profound study in the future.
4. Part: CAD
CAD course introduces Computer Aided Design as a tool to construct and visualize ideas, drawings of maps and plans. The exercise explains basics of CAD systems, shapes and construction methods, basics of digital file formats, plan making in regional and city scale, possibilities and limitations of drawing and presentations, visualization of spatial concepts, 2D and 3D data, data import and export.
