Projektseminar Online Seminar Landscape Architecture in Europe Cultural Landscapes

Virtuelles Seminar zu Konzepten für Kulturlandschaften in europäischen Metropolregionen. Teilnehmer beschäftigen sich mit ausgewählten Fallbeispielen aus -Ruhr- und -Istanbul - und stellen selbst gewählte Fallbeispiele aus ihrem persönlichen / professionellen Umfeld vor. Die Seminarsprache ist Englisch. Content: The theme of the 2010 ECLAS Conference is ‘Cultural Landscapes'. Our international seminar picks up on this theme. We are inspired by the belief that wisely managing significant cultural landscapes, both designed and vernacular, are critical to sustaining the continuum of human history across generations. Protecting cultural values makes special non-renewable resources available to all people to benefit from and to appreciate human ingenuity, accomplishments, hardships, and hopes. From here, we also may gain insight that help in finding future land management and design solutions. Educational objective: The seminar will be internet-based with self-study phases, group meetings and plenary sessions in a virtual teaching room. Students shall widen their understanding of driving forces shaping and delimiting cultural landscapes in metropolitan regions. Moreover, they will deepen analytical skills and train intercultural communication in mixed working groups. Interactive internet technologies will be used for communication and presentation. Plenary sessions will be used for group presentations, feedback and integration of texternal expert lecturers. Support will be provided in the context of moderation, use of technologies and group supervision.
