Vorlesung Seminar VISION VERSION

vision/version This module will introduce key moments in the history and theory of animation and experimental filmmaking. We will investigate relating aspects of animation and filmmaking in relevance to the idea that perception of moving image is based on the concept of illusion of movement. You will gain an insight into the world of preproduction, production and postproduction of individual artists/directors and genres. This will be an opportunity to experience extracts of creativity by highlighting selected concepts of practice. This will open up for discussions cultural theory and social developments in relation to processes of communication between director and viewer. The module runs simultaneously to the seminar ‘vision/version’ in collaboration with the documenta Archiv in form of contextual and creative investigations into individual examples of audio-visual work presented in the past as part of the documenta exhibition of contemporary art. The lectures and seminars will be conveyed in english.
