Jetzt Lernplan erstellenThe project will have three major topics: Whitechapel as a historical centre of immigration, prostitution and crime (traces and potentials for tourism, i.e. from the Huguenots to Jack the Ripper)- developing a tourism-orientated ethnic community (triggered by a bookshop bestseller) - comprehensive impact of tourism-orientated land and floor uses on adjacent quarters, on public and private traffic, on the local and/or London-wide tourist business, on the local arts business (processes of urban renewal as well as gentrification?)
The group of participants will be split among these topics and each topic group is expected (1) to introduce into its specific topic on the occation of the seminar (2)to develop, present and discuss field methods for the project (these methods have to be carefully explained to the audience as the group as whole will have to apply them in the course of the field studies) and (3)- as this project is a result-orientated project - to introduce new ideas/methods/aspects, if necessary or promising, into the project that are useful to grasp the structures, problems, potentials, sentiments etc. of the project area.
