Social Politics in India - Governmental support for the poor and disabled in India, Poverty alleviation programmes- BPL Category-Different poverty alleviation schemes- Grant for building small houses for the poor - Income generation schemes for the poor - Old age pension, widow pension. Service programmes for the disabled - Special Schools, Vocational training centres, Sheltered workshops, CBR Programmes, Seminars and workshops for awareness generation etc. National Institutes for the Handicapped, State Institute of Rehabilitation, Vocational Rehabilitation Centres, District Centres for the Disabled, Composite Rehabilitation Centres for the Disabled, etc. Concessions and facilities for the disabled- Disability certificate, Disability pension, Income tax exemption, Railway, Bus, and Air travel concessions, Special provision for pension to disabled ward of Government employees, NHFDC Loan to disabled persons, Bank loans, Allotment of land, houses on preferential basis, 3% reservation in Govt. jobs, reservation for admission in educational institutions. Self help groups for the women, poor, and disabled- Govt. programs through Blocks and NABARD, CAPART, Non- Govt. initiative - formation of SHGs through projects. Special Schools run by State Govt., Govt. of India, and Non Govt. Organisations, Number of different types of projects run by Govt. of India for the benefit of the disabled.
