Seminar Übung Music event and cultural management in theory and practice

Content : For more details please see the German description. There will be 1-2 groups hold in English. In each group we will discuss, manage and finally evaluate concrete and real music concerts, projects and events. In the past there were projects like • -WOODROCK-Festival- - see facebook • solidarity concerts - for the -Deutsche Oper am Rhein- and the Philharmonic Orchestra of Duisburg - for the famous soccer club MSV Duisburg • -Duisburg singt- (see facebook): several public, low-level open air singing events at central places in Duisburg, e.g. in front of the main station, in the stadium of MSV Duisburg or at König-Heinrich-Platz It is not neccessary to play an instrument or to have special musical knowledge. Lecturer of this class is Armin Klaes (see www.arminklaes.de). Students of any profession with interest in all kinds of project management and cultural development are welcome. There will be the following projects in summer 2015: • new concerts in the small hall of -Mercatorhalle- in Duisburg • some more events of -Duisburg singt- • another WOODROCK-Festival • preparation of the -Uni-Musik-Festival Duisburg-Essen- • preparation of a new concert-trip to Ephesus/Turkiye Learning target : to learn the basics of project management on the basis of musical and cultural examples, realized in teamwork You will get more details concerning this matter during the first meeting. Methoden-, Selbst- und Sozialkompetenz (E1) Studienleistung zum Erwerb von ECTS-Credits: active participation in the project group; individual contributions for the project; own protocolls; test at the end This is also neccessary in order to get a certificate for participation.
