Course Material: The reader (Skript) can be purchased during my office hours on Wednesdays 16.00-17.30. In addition, photocopiable course material will be filed on the internet homepage 'Wirtschaftsfremdsprachen'. Password to be announced during the first lecture. A good English-German/German-English dictionary (please see recommendations below) is required in class.
Bemerkung This course provides comprehensive coverage of international stock exchange matters which students need for professional purposes. It includes up-to-date texts and vocabulary from the main areas of international banking and finance such forms of money, stocks and shares, mergers & acquisitions, central and commercial banking and international exchange markets. In addition, the course provides a variety of carefully structured exercises where students are encouraged to apply the language actively through case-studies and job-specific role plays. In addition, CNN International News will be screened on a regular base in order to provide ample opportunity for discussion. Hand-outs on grammar and vocabulary will be used to exploit the texts.
